Packing Advice for International Courier & Cargo
Good packing protects your shipment and can reduce chargeable weight. Follow these guidelines before pickup and dispatch.
Practical packing tips
Use a sturdy box
Choose a corrugated box strong enough for the weight. Double-wall boxes are better for heavy items.
Pad the contents
Use bubble wrap, foam or paper to prevent movement and cushion fragile items on all sides.
Seal securely
Use strong packing tape across all openings. Avoid masking or cello tape alone.
Fill empty space
Empty space causes contents to shift. Fill gaps with packing material so nothing moves.
No external labels
Remove or cover old labels and barcodes from reused boxes to avoid misrouting.
Check dimensions
Keep the parcel compact. Large size increases volumetric weight and therefore the charge.
Liquids and medicines
Seal containers tightly and add absorbent material in case of leaks.
Food items
Use sealed airtight packaging. Crushable food needs extra cushioning.
About chargeable weight
Courier charges are based on the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (length × width × height ÷ divisor). A large but light parcel can therefore cost more than its actual weight. Use the volumetric calculator to estimate chargeable weight before packing.
